About Kelechi Okafor
For her bio this Marvel from London writes: “Ke-leh-chee. That is how my name is pronounced. Now that is out of the way, hello! I am Kelechi Okafor and I'm a lover of words. I act, I direct and I write. I tweet and I dissect bits about society one podcast episode at a time. When I am not doing all of the above, I teach pole dance and twerk at my studio Kelechnekoff Fitness in Peckham. Society teaches us that we must fall into categories somehow. All I know is that I'm just a Baby Girl."

The GembertheeSessies (GingerteaSessions) is our series of conversations where actors, directors, musicians, writers and other artists talk about their frames of reference, what inspires them, the shoulders on which they stand and the footsteps from which they move. While enjoying some delicious ginger tea from poetry and cocktail bar Labyrinth, the maker joins the host and the audience in a conversation about their work.

GembertheeSessies, een serie gesprekken waar choreografen, filmmakers en literatuurkenners hun creatieve processen en inspiratiebronnen delen aan de hand van foto's, video's en teksten. Onder het genot van gemberthee van poetry- en cocktailbar Labyrinth bespreken ze hun werken met de host Simone Zeefuik en het publiek. Elke sessie begint met een toonmoment, zoals een deel van een voorstelling, een lezing, of een compilatie van filmscènes, afhankelijk van het genre waarin ze bekend zijn.
